a recent study shows… Atheists tend to have a higher IQ and fewer self esteem issues..

Psychologists from the University of Rochester define intelligence as ‘ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, and learn from experience’. They go on to define religion as some sort of involvement in part or all of the aspects of a belief process.

A meta-analysis of 63 studies showed a significant negative association between intelligence and religiosity. The association was stronger for college students and the general population than for participants younger than college age; it was also stronger for religious beliefs than religious behavior. 53 from the 63 studies displayed a ‘reliable negative relation between intelligence and religiosity’, in 10 of the 63 studies that relationship positive.

Three possible interpretations were discussed.

First, intelligent people are less likely to conform and, thus, are more likely to resist religious…

How ISIS controls life, from birth to foosball – CNN

ShuraCouncil

(CNN)It has all the key points you’d expect on a birth certificate — baby’s weight, length and date of birth confirmed with an official insignia. The difference here is the governing authority’s stamp: The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
It’s one of many official documents relating to matters such as vaccination schedules, fishing methods and rent disputes in the areas now controlled by ISIS.
For ISIS sees itself as a government operating under a rule of law, even if the group is most often talked about for its barbaric punishment of anyone who resists or defies its medieval interpretation of that Islamic law.
The ISIS documents, some shared with CNN by researcher Aymenn Al-Tamimi, give a window into the bureaucracy of the self-declared caliphate.
Last summer, ISIS fighters swept through the Iraqi city of Mosul. Once they took power, leaders wanted to show they could bring stability allowing daily life to resume. So, they quickly reopened the University of Mosul, albeit under a radically altered curriculum. Read the or watch the video here.

Camp Jihad? – a little more from the latest edition the IS online mag “Dabiq” #isis #isil

I LOVE this picture.  Happy, heavily armed young men joining their brethren from across the globe in a noble battle to conquer evil and create a better world!

JihadCampThe copy ain’t half bad either…

“The Khalīfah (hafidhahullāh) said, “O Muslims everywhere, glad tidings to you and expect good. Raise your heads high, for today – by Allah’s grace – you have a state and khilāfah, which will return your dignity, might, rights, and leadership. It is a state where the Arab and non-Arab, the white man and black man, the easterner and westerner are all brothers. It is a khilāfah that gathered the Caucasian, Indian, Chinese, Shāmī, Iraqi, Yemeni, Egyptian, Maghribī (North African), American, French, German, and Australian. Allah brought their hearts together, and thus, they became brothers by His grace, loving each other for the sake of Allah, standing in a single trench, defending and guarding each other, and sacrificing themselves for one another. ”

Don’t get me wrong.  I oppose this movement and think it should be stopped. But I respect their excellent marketing skills. This is from edition #8 which you can get here.  You can read them all at Jihadology.net

Whatever else you say about the IS they have good graphic designers and put out an attractive online mag! #isis

Resistance not to remain silent over Saudi attacks on Yemen: Hezbollah

image

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has reiterated its condemnation of Saudi airstrikes against Yemen, saying the resistance movement will not remain silent over the aggression.

Hezbollah’s Media Relations issued a strongly-worded statement on Wednesday, saying Saudi Arabia is attempting to create divisions in the region and fragment the regional countries, Lebanon’s al-Manar TV reported.

The statement further noted that Saudi Arabia murders innocent people through purchasing consciences, importing armies and soldiers, and sowing discord.

Extermination operations as well as mass murders are being committed during the course of the Saudi aggression against innocent Yemeni civilians, the statement said.

It also described Saudi Arabia as the regime of ignorance and murder in the Arabian Peninsula which is exporting terrorism, extremists and subversive ideologies. http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/04/16/406542/Hezbollah-slams-Saudi-aggression-again
